I know that we can't do any thing with SPD in SharePoint hosted app as app web can't be opened in SPD due to security reasons. I suppose this statement should be valid for all type of apps i mean for provider hosted & auto hosted too. I am saying this because for all type of apps, app web is same hence in case of provider & auto hosted apps, SPD can't open the app web.
