How reliable are Access Web Forms?

I an having all kinds of fun building a simple search form. every once in a while I hit the magic combination that allows the search to actually work. Then I make a formatting change (the last one was to insert a blank column on the main form to providea little margin).  After adding the empty column I synced the Access DB to my SharePoint 2013 site and when I clicked on the Search button I received an error: The 'SetFilter' action requires a valid control name that corresponds to a subform or subreport.  When you press OK you get an error code of 32003.

The page filters worked worked before I added the unrelated column, why is it broken now.

All my macros fail at the point I issue the SetFilter command, even the one that sets the filter value to blank to show all records.

The irony is that it works perfectly in Access/

Can I expect the app to stop working whenever it feels like it?
